The recently-concluded Taiwan Golden Bell Awards ended with a wave of unhappiness when word got out that the results for certain categories had been leaked a few hours before the awards were presented. The manager of Taiwanese actor-singer Vic Chou, who was nominated for Best Actor, revealed that he was informed of the winner three hours before the ceremony, ruining his highly-anticipated surprise.
The manager added that Vic was informed of the news at 9pm that night. He had no choice but to sit amongst the audiences and aimlessly wait for the award to be presented. “He was disappointed and felt that it was a waste that he was not able to enjoy the surprise of the mystery at that moment.”
Regarding rumours of Vic’s non-participation in the movie sequel of Black & White, his manager explained, “Of course [he] did not put things that way. Originally they gave us a November date but now they have changed it to February next year. He has other things going on in February, however, we will definitely give priority and due consideration to director Cai’s productions. We’ll wait for the script to be out before we talk about his schedule.”
The organizers of the event clarified against the rumours of a plausible results leak, “The name list was not leaked. Those were merely everyone’s own conjectures if not, please show us the evidence. Results for the award category of Vic and Mark were only released at 11pm.”
